Hello! Welcome to The Princientist.
About the blog
This blog combines my two passions of fashion and science to give you practical tools to help you create a better version of yourself.
The name The Princientist stands for The Princess Scientist and represents how I see myself in a world where my occupation is seen as the opposite of beauty, style and creativity. I am a scientist.
I love fashion and I want to share my knowledge in both areas with you.
The Princientist was created to help black women looking for a change in style but don’t know where to begin. But anyone is welcome to read.
All the information online can be overwhelming.
The goal is to have everything you need in one place to begin your level-up journey.
This information is paired with self-improvement strategies and advice through an adaptation of science to real life.
We will discuss external appearance a lot. To clarify, appearance in this context does not refer to beauty/facial beauty.
It is about how you choose to present yourself to the world regardless of the beautiful/ugly systems society has forced upon you.
This blog is a safe space to share opinions, tips and advice.

About ME – Owner & Creator
My name is Amila. I am a scientist with a passion for fashion.
I have been cultivating my knowledge and bettering my style using a logical and methodical approach.
The methods I used proved to be very effective in helping me increase my confidence and improve my style in a visible way to myself and my peers.
With all this information at my disposal, I created a fashion blog to share the same methods with you.
A few curiosities:
– My favourite colour is pink.
– I like beer, selfies and sciences and I can’t pass by a sunset without admiring it.
– I have recently made a dream come true and visited Paris. But I also failed to enter a school I wanted, so I’ll try again later.
– From time to time I choose something I’m afraid of and do it.
– I live by the belief that it takes the same amount of energy to plan big that it does to plan small. Dreaming is free. So I plan as much as I can for the good things and do what is available to me.
Think about it, if you are not even planning big, how will big opportunities find you? How will you know that they exist? You are not looking for them.
Actively, intentionally and vehemently go in search of good, big things for yourself. Run towards that dream. Don’t let up.
The Mission
I’m here to help you achieve the entire potential of your physical appearance.
All the things you want from the way you look to personal achievements are possible. You just need the right strategy.
I struggled very hard with my self-image growing up because I couldn’t see myself anywhere. Not in the makeup industry, fashion shows or movies I adored.
No one told me my black traits were part of my beauty. Essential to it.
So I’m here to tell you, black girl. You are BEAUTIFUL and WORTHY. You are not invisible.
The afro hair, the wide nose, and the big lips are all part of what makes you beautiful.
And if you can’t see it by yourself it’s okay because I’m here to bring you the right information so you can find your beauty and own it on your terms.
Main Goals
First, we will discuss makeup, skincare, nail care and hair care from a perspective directed at black women like me.
Second, having visual proof that you look your best is a big boost to feeling confident. For this reason, you can find the best self-photography tips here.
And finally, in science applied to life, and self-improvement we will make use of Scientific theories to bring a new approach to your daily problems.
The idea is that you combine all the knowledge to become the image of your imagination. To bring out the women you imagine yourself to be – more positive, calmer, and confident.
